Definitely shaky. Western union splice all the way. Don’t be scared to use a soldering iron.

Quick question: trying to tap the brake light of the left wiring harness. Problem I’m having is my wires are blue, green and white. Which one should I tap into with the break light wire? I already have the other one grounded. Thanks in advance!

@PhenixFord so to confirm, I splice the red wire from the 3rd brake Light into the blue wire and attach the black wire from the 3rd brake light to a screw on the housing for the ground? Or would you recommend splicing the black wire into the white ground wire from the taillight? Never done this before so I appreciate it.

Puppyhunter has a great harness so that you don't have to tap into the oem brake light wiring. He was also able to make a harness to add a pop and lock for the shell if you have the OEM tailgate lock.

so you have a link for this. I had to rewire my brake light on my ARE shell as the stock light had water in it.

    None yet, here to learn
Great thread - I'll be wiring up my new (well, new to me) Leer canopy this weekend. Mine came with a fuse box (this one: https://truckoutfittersplus.com/Topper-Fuse-Box-Only.html). It has 2x4 prong connectors on top and the input on the bottom is a 6 prong. Because I bought it used, the 6 prong wasn't included with the canopy. In case anyone else is in a similar situation I found the replacement 6-prong wiring harness on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DVM7KQP/) and here (https://truckoutfittersplus.com/tru...ss-only.html#product-details-tab-MyCustomTab6).

Now with the excellent write-up here, it should be a pretty simple exercise to wire it up.
