    Still thinking about it.
I acquired a set of new take-off TRD OR shocks (no springs) that I intend to use as replacements on my 2015 AC 2.7 4x4.

I haven’t figured out if my original coil springs and ‘hats’ will fit the OR shocks, and I don’t really want to take the front end apart to find out.

    Please advise..

It will fit though ride may be a little wonky, you'll have more shock than spring the damping will be a little stronger, may feel more firm.

Do you know if the spring length and diameter are the same on both versions? People say that 3g suspension causes about a one inch lift? If that’s caused by the spring then my idea should retain stock ride height..

If I'm not mistaken the difference is in spring rate, not longer or shorter coil spring. I could be wrong, and I would verify the springs are similar length before installing.

What Superdave said the springs have a slightly higher spring rate.

    IIRC
    4cyl 6 lug 2nd gens are 500lb/in
    6cyl 6 lug 2nd gens are 550lb/in
    3rd gens are 590lb/in

    Or somewhere in that neighborhood.

But so long as you have a 6 lug the 3rd gen suspension will fit, ride and handling characteristics may vary but it's up to your interpretation of wether or not you like the ride.
