I need to remove my mobtown Sliders and it's been years since I've done it so if anyone has a WORKING link to the PDF or a video for the 2nd Gen that would be much help. Thanks in advance. 20220509_161256.jpg

A few additions to make me feel cool.
Can’t you just start removing bolts until they fall on you?

Could, but I like having a guide. If I can't scrounge up one then that will be plan B. The links I've found are dead as mobtown was bought out and disappeared.

Here's the vid of the install from Mobtown:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6uVQQ14SqQ

I remember going through this years back when I was installing mine.
@armyofsquirrels If you don't mind me asking, what is reason for the removal?

I removed mines a couple years ago to take the rust off and re-primer and paint.

Exactly, 7 years of being bolted on in the rust belt. I'm getting them sand blasted and powder coated again to go back on along with the front bumper before installing the new winch.

They've been neglected a bit but should clean up pretty well.

They should look nice once they're cleaned up. I wish it was easy for me to get things sand blasted and powdercoated where I live. Going with a metal brush wheel was hard times for me.
    Was it originally powder coated?
I tried this product called Rust Destroyer, which is one of those rust converters and primers, but this product went on very thick. After a couple years since doing this work, the thickness of this primer has really helped with the rock chips and any subsequent rust starting. The rocks from my tires would kick up and hit my sliders and pretty much just chip the finish coat, but rarely went through the primer.
Anyway, post up some pictures when it's done!

So funny story I did get them powder coated from a place when I first got them. It was brand new virgin steel. I'm not sure their exact process but from the bubbling I experienced and talking to others, everyone thinks they did something wrong. I wanted to get them powder coated in 2020 5 years after purchasing the truck, these were the first part I bought for the new truck so its been on since around a month after I bought the truck in late May 2015. But not much got done that year or the following year. I'm almost scared to see what the pricing will be after covid as I got a quote right before covid, but its got to get done sooner rather than later. I'll post up pics after getting them done. I think I will try that rust destroyer on the skid plates. Decided not to get them powder coated hoping to cut some of the costs by just getting the bumper and sliders done and I can rattle can those.

So this was pre covid, I took them ALL my armor (F bumper, Sliders, IFS skid, Transmission skid, and transfer case skid) they wanted $900 to sand blast and re powder coat all of it. The shop comes highly reviewed and recommended at least. I subscribe to the buy once cry once mentality if I get quality I don't mind spending a little extra. For comparison the first shop I took everything to was around $500-600 however I can't be too mad they don't look terrible after 7 years of abuse and neglect. Where did that time go lmao.

I'm not looking forward to the work but I'll be happy to be able to clean up around them.

Update got them off today. The frame has some surface rust looks like mostly rust powder from the Sliders and not the actual frame. Gonna hit the car wash tomorrow after I drop em off.

Gonna clean it up and coat it in that recommended rust destroyer before the Sliders go back on.

Is this the rust product you were talking about?

They have spray too but I'm thinking rolling it on would be better.
