Finally got around to installing them, took about 2 hours, wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, definitely recommend a couple beers during install for sanity purposes

I have a couple recommendations for getting the wire through the tunnel..

Pull the entire tunnel out with the connectors and straighten it out

Stick a zip tie through the tunnel and zip tie the wire by the connector to the zip tie running through the tunnel

Pull it through while massaging the tunnel, easy 2 minute job

Good luck y’all, I’ll post a night pic of the finished product soon

the only different thing I would do here is to tape the connector to the zip tie. It keeps it straight and least likely to snag and possibly break off from the connector.

thanks for the pics! Great visuals

Prepped my truck Saturday and waited impatiently for usps. Was a fairly easy install if you're not rushing. I found the easiest way was to de-pin the connector and feed in through with just the wires. Much narrower profile. A great tool for snaking wires is a length of weed wacker string which most guys have in the garage. Super bright!

That's a great idea! I used some Romex for my V5's because fish tape was too stiff.

Got my puddle pods kit today but noticed the one clip was half broken on my driver side. Submitted a ticket earlier.

That's too bad. I'm sure they'll hook you up. I wish there was a better way to secure these. I'm worried that they'll fall off due to road vibration...Like maybe a recessed hole with a stainless screw or plastic pop rivets?

Thank you so much for suggesting this as it turned out to be the problem. the strange part is that the pair of wires that got clipped were from the v5 turn signal hookup and not the actual pod lights. I would hope that this experience and me sharing it will help someone else either figure out whats wrong or learn from my mistake and take care in making sure those loose wires are secure and out of the way from those bolts. I would recommend zip tie the wires to the main harness so they aren't loose.

both pods are lit while the truck is running and no more blown fuses. thanks again for everyone's help and suggestions. Now all i need is the switch to better control the lights, but more importantly I REALLY need the custom switch panel layout to accommodate the extra switch as I have no room to place it atm.

    Glad you found the issue!
Or, you could get MESO's stealth switch and just use the slot where the ECT button used to be.

Yup. Best way to do it. Pull the boot completely out and it makes life much easier.

Once locked in they are there to stay. It’s taking them off which tends to be tougher and sometimes can break a clip.

Shoot us a ticket though the website(best way to track redos) I have plenty of replacement plastics.

Glad you got it sorted out!. The other wire is ignition(to power the V5) so even though the puddles worked correctly, once the truck turned on it sensed the short and blew the fuse.

Thanks. I already have the stealth switch and removed the ECT and removed the QI wireless charging to make room for the heated seats. I also run the anytime camera and have the switch on the left side panel next to the ETC. I really am out of places to put the puddle pod switch or any additional switched until I can get a custom one from Meso.

That’s what I’m worried about. I’ll try to be carefully when I get my V5’s. I’ll need to open up that part to run the pigtails and plug it in.

Anyone know of a good install video for the puddle switch? I plan to install one once they come back in stock. I just installed the pods and I am wondering how difficult it will be to get the switch in there...the pod install was no picnic...haha

Where are you installing the switch? Left side of steering wheel of switch panel in front of the shifter?

Here’s a thread about the left panel- https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-remove-cubby-hole-to-the-left-of-steering-wheel.532917/

For the other switch locations, I removed the radio and fished my hand through when adding seat heater switched.

You did the hard part already. It's not bad installing the switch after. Just remove the A pillar again, connect the switch harness, run the wire to desired location and switch.

I installed mine where the ECT button was.

I have not seen any videos though
