I am surprised they have struggled so much after being so dominant during the regular season. Than again, I always have thought Bob is a playoff choker. It's hard to say, The Caps have the pedigree. If I had to bet I would say they don't.

 

The Pens have surprised me with the offensive out put in this series. They are playing much better than they were at the end of the regular season. Maybe trying to insulate Domingue is causing them to play a tighter team defense.

 

I'm all for believing in my team but I'm realistic also. I've been happily proven wrong with this series. Not that it's over yet. But after Jarry went out, and how our regular season games went against the Rangers, I didn't have much hope making it past the first round.

I am too. However over the years we have seen many times that teams that can score at will in the regular season sometimes struggle hard when the game is played tighter in the playoffs. I think that is a lot of FL's problems. BOB hasn't been that bad, aside from the 1 game. But their whole team looked bad that game.

I agree. Was thinking the same thing. The team that we saw the last 2 months of the season had very little jump and no secondary scoring. Everyone has elevated, which is cool to see.

 

If Pittsburgh doesn’t win the whole thing it will not be because Jake didn’t do his part!!

I saw a stat during last night's game. It was something like the number of goals scored in the playoffs over the last 4 years or so. Jake is number 4 on the list. That's very impressive.

 

If Rakell comes back I think Kapanen has to sit. He has played better in the playoffs, especially the last two games, but has nothing to show for it. Rakell can take his place on Malkin's line. I can't see bumping out Boyle, Rodriguez or McGinn for Kapanen.

 

Ya I guess it depends on how Sulli sees the lines shaping up. Def gotta keep ERod and McGinn. Kap is for sure borderline, but Boyle maybe too. Also, Zucker was pretty banged up so who knows, he might be hurt again (hopefully not)

Also non-Pens related, even with the loss, Oettinger has been so good. He's been awesome to watch so far in these playoffs. Not sure if they are going to get past Calgary but he's given them a chance.

Boyle to me has been a rock, a great 4th line center. He was a great last minute pick up. I don't know how much he would have in the tank, if the Pens make a long run. He might need spelled from time to time.

 

No telling what his next contract will look like

He's been good but I still think there is a chance he may come out. Tough to say.
