I've got a factory alarm by "Tracker" on my 2017 SR5 tacoma, bought car brand new. I started noticing issues arming the alarm from the key fob a few weeks ago. The problem is intermittent. Sometimes I can arm my alarm and sometimes I can't. I have to walk around and away from my car until I get to the perfect spot and then I can arm the car.

Replaced battery on my 3 button H chip remote key fob and tried using a backup 3 button H chip remote key fob with new battery that I had as a spare. Nothing works.

Is there a transponder or an antenna that I need to replace inside the car, or is there a way to reset the alarm system?

I'm also thinking about just getting a new alarm system and having the factory one taken out.

Anyone run into the same problem? What options do I have? I'm really open to suggestions and ideas.

    Thanks in advance.

The factory alarm is Toyota OEM not tracker. So it sounds like you might have a dealer add on alarm. If it really is an add on, there are so many ways to wire them that I’d personally look at pulling it out first, go back to stock and see how things work. With an luck they used a harness plug-in and you don’t have to rewire anything, just move some connectors about.

You add any new leds or something else that can be interfering?

Agree . “Tracker” is not a factory alarm. Find Tracker customer service and contact them. They should be able to get you in touch with a dealer who services that brand for help.

@Diablo169 Ugh I hate going to the dealer. Thanks letting me know that Tracker is not factory didn't know that. I figured I bought the car new and figured it was a factory alarm not dealer installed. That makes sense. I was not familiar with that brand.
@RX1cobra The only thing I installed was raptor lights from Cali-Raised. How can that affect my alarm?
@mutely Thanks for info. I think I'm just going to take it to a car audio shop and just have them replace the alarm. I can do it myself but honestly I don't have the time, but I do have the money.

LEDs can give off interference that can weaken the fobs range. If this started happening after their install unplug them and see if it changes anything.

Remove the alarm to the trash, dont bother replacing.
