help with the grille

i have a 09 taco and the grille is grey and im looking to paint it black but i dont want to have to tape off around the edges of the whole grille. is there a way that after i take off the grille that i can remove only the grey part?

If I recall correctly the inner piece is heat welded on... Don't think you can separate without damaging it...
Just get a roll of blue painters tape & take 10 min to mask it out.
