The new third member from East Coast Gear Supply is finally installed. I went with 4.30 gears and since the bank was already broke, threw in the Detroit TruTrac. Initial impressions, it's given me the low end grunt that was lagging. Before the truck (5 speed man.) was only happy in first gear driving around in parking lot. 2nd would bog out. Now, I can almost have it in third at the same speed. Don't think I need the Pedal Commander anymore.
Before, it would take a while to run through the gears to get going. Now, i'm pretty much in 4th
gear going 35-40. Still driving it conservatively for 500 mile break in period. Have not recorded fuel mileage yet but the gauge seems to be moving slower. Nor has it been at freeway speeds yet.
Problems: put on 31.10.15 tires on old 15" Enkei rims. The rims don't work with the metal tire pressure sensors i bought, tire place wants a fortune to put theirs in.
The speedometer is WAY off. Before gearing with tires i think it was 5mph slow. Now with the gearing the speedo is 10 mph fast, says i'm doing 55 when GPS (2 different ones)says 45.
Will update later with fuel mileage and highway performance. Will be putting a trailer hitch on soon to tow boat after breakin. IMG_7949.jpg

300 miles into 4.30 regear. Initial impressions, so far it seems to be worth the cost.
Drove at highway speeds once, big difference. Before to speed up it needed to downshift into 3rd, now it accelerates without downshifting. 1st mpg for partial refill was 19mpg which is a couple better than i usually average. Speedo was 10 mph off. Just installed a Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator Module which turned out to be really easy. Had to calibrate it 3 times.
First time by tire size, speedo was still off. Then by GPS speed and Speedo speed, was still off by a couple mph. Tweaked it and now speedometer and gps agree. Time will tell if this works out.
Hope to put a tankful of gas through it to see current mpg.
Reinstall trailer hitch and tow my boat is next.
Anyone need some used 3.31 gears? :turtleride:

No, it has the Fat Bob's leveling kit. Don't think 5 lugs are lift-able.
