Can someone please help me? I have a 1998 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Extended Cab. I currently have 15” wheels with -38 offset wrapped in 33x12.50x15s. I want to put a bigger and wider rim, say a 20x12 rim with -44 offset wrapped in 33x12.50x20s. I know they will probably rub like hell but has anyone done this? Will I need a spacer to clear the brake rotors, upper control arm, etc.?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know the offset of the spare wheel? I'm looking at 35 inch tires and wondering if I need new wheels and if I do I'm just trying to figure out my baseline. 16 inch black steel.

I understand the backspacing and how its affected by rim width and offset. My question is this...on my 2010 TRD Sport DCSB my wheels have a 5.5" backspace (7.5" wide, 30 mm offset). I'm thinking about some 18"x 9" Fuel Shoks. They have three offsets...-12, 1, 20. I'm choosing between the 1 and 20.

The 20 will give a 5.8 backspace with the 1 will give a backspace of 5.00. I'd rather have them tucked a bit more with the 20 offset but not sure how much extra room is back there. The tires will be 265/60r18 which is almost identical to the OEM 265/65r17's. When I look there's not that much room between the tires and the spindle (?). I guess I'm wondering with the wider wheel and less bulge on the tire, will that buy me some room?

Edit.... the front will be lowered 2". I'm going to drop it first with the OEM wheels/tires and reassess. See what I can see back there. And now I'll let myself out the Tacoma backdoor of shame.

Hi all! 2020 TRD offroad, have a 2.75 inch lift. Looking at the pro comp series 34 rockwells with 0mm offset and 4.5 back spacing 17x8.5. Also looking at the 275/70r17 wild peaks. Any chance these will rub on something that needs more than just some trimming and massaging of plastics? Don't really want to do a cmc..

    Hi there fellow forum members.
I need some help with a tire and wheel combo i'd like to purchase for my 2011 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport ( It has factory TRD Sport wheels and Cooper 265x65x17 tires currently).
My truck has a Bilstein 3" lift and some SPC UCA's ( I have very little clearance between my UCA's and tires right now, maybe half and inch).
I've been looking at some MB Legacy wheels in 18" x 9" with an offset of 18, but am unsure if they will fit my truck without sticking out too much as I prefer my wheels more tucked inside the fender wells.
Tire choice (so far) is Cooper Discoverer ATP in 275x70x18.
Will these wheels clear my SPC uca's and not stick out too much?
Or should I stick with 17" MB wheels 17x8.5 with a -6 back spacing with 285x70x17 tires?
Thank you in advance for your help.

Didn't want to start a whole thread for this so maybe someone can help. I have a 2021 Tacoma Sport with the 17in rims. I just wanted to ask if anyone knows the offset on them? I know they are 7.5in wide. I can't find that info on any searches ive been doing. Thanks for the help

Inside of the rims is a number sometimes by itself other times adjacent to the rim size numbering. Take a picture of the back of the rims and post it.

You can find your wheel & tire sizes at Wheel-size.com. Just enter your year and model. They give all the info--backspacing, offset, bore, lug number and diameters.

So how would these specs relate to a 17x8.5 wheel with 4.5 bs & 0 offset or a 17x8.5 wheel with 4.75 bs & -12 offset? Those are the specs on 2 of the wheels I am looking at to replace my stock Sport wheels. 265/70r17 tires with no lift. I would prefer not to have fender clearance issues and do not want suspension clearance issues. I have also looked at a couple 17x9s, but figure they will have some fender clearance issues.

    A couple general backspacing questions:

My understanding is that a minimum 4.5 backspacing is required for a wheel to fit on a Gen 3 Tacoma - Is this true?

Does this mean that a lower backspacing or higher backspacing will work?

(for reference - I am looking at wheels that have a 4.26 backspacing with -57 offset)

Just ordered some fabtech lift spindles for my 02 5 lug. Website says that back spacing needed is 3.75” if i remember correctly. Does anyone know if this is the minimum or maximum i can run?

What's your offset to avoid rubbing?

I am sure it has been asked a million times, but reading thru the forum I still cant make a confident decision.
2019 Tacoma TRD sport with 3" RC leveling kit. Now I want rims and tire package.
Mostly daily driving but some light off-roading and hope to soon visit Colorado for some off-road camping in the mountains.
Wheels and tires I am looking to use

Based off what I understand about back spacing and offset. I believe these should work with minimal wheel well liner trimming.
Can anyone tell me if these will rub horribly? Any other trimming I will have to do to make these fit?
I do not want to do a cab mount relocation at this time. Looking to order this weekend
My goal is next year to do a 6" lift, but kids and wife wont finance me at this time lol
