that looks so fun! The first thing I’m doing once my truck is trustworthy is goin out west and getting lost in the desert for a week.

Its pretty hard to beat. I love finding places where I can't hear any human originated noises. Really hard to come back to the shitshow after that.

i feel that about so many more natural places. Deserts, forests, rivers - I'll take'm all. Wilderness feels like home for me.

Yep. We gotta enjoy it now. I hope my kid can too. Things are changing. Wish I had the time to spend on learning hydrogen separation so I didn’t have to deal w running my trucks on gas.

Yeah i'll probably reply something like that. This person is super nice, but has a habit of just throwing shit on my calendar at the last minute. Usually I can handle it, but not this week.

    Its a *test procedure*.

I couldn't read it that fast if I tried, their test procedures are nightmares on a good day.

Found a weld that I didn't like on the axle. I was pushing way too fast the other night and should have slowed down to pay more attention but I wanted to wrap it up before I ran out of argon..

I was gonna grind the weld off and reweld it before I decided I want to redo them all. if I have to ask myself "is that critical weld good enough?" The answer is no. I feel like I'm often caught saying "if you have to ask you already know the answer" to other people so time to be self accountable.

Ground off the rest of it and honestly I think it would have been fine. No more half measures, that's how I've ended up with a truck that is always breaking in the first place.

Funny how that happens, will they take the news well?

When I quit the last job and was on my last week something similar happened. at 5pm on Thursday before my last day the PM sent me a design doc and said "can you do this before you leave?" I looked at it and it was a 3+ month project. My buddies and I had a pretty good laugh

Yeah they probably will. They're understaffed and overworked too, so its just part of the shit show.

lol. PMs seem to be either really in the know, or completely fucking clueless.

I find that I start to get sloppy if I'm tired. So easy to start cutting corners at the end of the night, especially during the week. And then I regret it the next time I'm out there.

    Good job.
