I’m a little younger than you, but we too had an outhouse at camp. Same deal with the lime. Cuts the smell. Taking a dump and not putting a scoop on it was grounds for an ass-whipping by grandpa. I mean, who looks?! Grandpa!

I still go to deer camp where we use an outhouse. The race is on every morning to be the first one to use it. By guy #8, you need a strong stomach, or no olfactory nerves left.

I lived in Honduras as a boy(my parents were missionaries). We would visit a town named Gualcinse that was on top of the mountain. The outhouse there was on the edge of a cliff overlooking the valley below, and the view was spectacular. You could only admire it for so long before the stench drove you out.

I have not hauled anything since last summer. Took some stuff to a donation center. I am thinking my load was lighter than post #327 above.

3 bags of salt for the pool, and a big bucket of laneway tar. All stuff that could have fit in Corolla. :bucket:
