Blacked out the OEM wheels. Not sure if I like the black wheels but definitely better than the chrome. I might go with bronze or white when I buy new wheels.

Recently, I added rail posts to my double slide. The rail was designed to support the platform I built for the open half of the bed. I finally got the stainless tie down anchors and installed one on the backside of each post to finish the platform build.

Looks great! I’ve been thinking about doing this. Did you use the decals, plasti dip or…? Thanks

Another route for getting wiring/ antennas in or out of the cab is through the AC drain hose grommet. Its in an easy location and the hole in the fire wall is a good size once you remove the grommet. Put it back of course. I have my antenna and compressor/lockers wiring going through the grommet.

Here is the video where I show the antenna wiring.

On mine, there was an extra nipple sticking out of the AC grommet. I cut the end off of it and now I had a sleeved input point for my coax.

I highly recommend the decals. I got a lot of miles out of those before I finally changed out wheels this year. Plus its easy to replace a section when a tire shop gets a little to aggressive with the bead puller.

My personal favorite - flatsixgraphics on etsy. They have a metallic charcoal color that looks a lot sharper than the standard black.

Edit: this is what they looked like after three years of neglect and abuse:

The whole tailgate was replaced. I'm assuming the previous owner lost the key.

Thanks! I did the vinyl decal that someone’s wife sells here. Pretty easy job if you’re patient.

I just put a Gibson tip on a Magnaflow system, I don’t think it’s a major violation like wearing adidas pants with Nike shoes, to mix your truck parts. The Tacoma gods will abide.

Got my gear mounted! Deciding on what locking method I want to go with for the boards but in the meantime I’m running nylon locking nuts on 2 for now and swapping them for the knobs when I go off road :D Rotopax locking mount might be on the list of near-future purchases too.

Finally got my home automation all straightened out and working with Apple HomeKit after Insteon closed up shop.
A pleasant side effect of everything I did is my craftsman garage door is now recognized by Apple HomeKit and as a result it now gives me the option to open and close the garage door from the Apple CarPlay interface in the truck. Very excited about this!
