These mounts were designed around the Ram brand ball mounts but you can use any mount or product with 1/4x20 thread. Threaded holes allow for 1/2" thread engagement with 0.80 total hole depth.

    Most commonly used Ram ball

I use the “B” size which is 1” ball and I think that’s the most common for interior dash mount devices.

    Install instructions:

The instructions below cover everything but I want to add two points.
-I would make sure to mark your two 10-32 mount holes on the dash before disassembling the dash.
-When placing the the backing plate, place the two supplied 10-32 screws in the dash holes you made and screw into the backing plate so that the holes are sure to be aligned. Then tighten the screws down to hold the backing plate in place and set the double sided tape adhesive. Once the dash is back together remove the screws and take care not to jam the screws back into the holes when installing the mount.

I've been testing these out in my own truck with double-sided tape to see if there is an option to not require tearing the dash apart. I'm in Ohio and even in our heat I'm finding failure of the tape with a Ram medium arm and a 10" tablet mount, with no tablet. I think it may be partly due to the direction of force when mounting accessories. I'll continue to try other mounting tape brand and thickness but I still think the screw and nut option is so far superior when mounting in this location. Other options might be rivers, riv-nut or a basic wall anchor. But some require special tools not everyone might have or cause you to drill larger holes than desired.
Let me know if anyone tries a different mounting method.

Look into 3M 467MP, remember PSA's have a dwell time to adhere, it's best if you can apply a linear force for 24hrs before weighting it.
