What is the life span of an LED light? Take for example your interior light above the seats. My guess is on traditional bulb every 10 years kind of thing, but my understanding is LED's last longer. Is that true?

As a general statement, leds are forever. They usually say they test them to 50,000 hours. (Talking good Cree brand, here… there’s crappy offshore bargain bin stuff out there that wouldn’t know a test if it saw one.)

However, and it’s a huge however, the electronics feeding the led fail at variable rates. Cheapy stuff usually fails early and often; expensive stuff is usually better. Heat is often the enemy, especially in household lightbulbs.

Yep. The LED's are not the weak link in the chain. The componants that make up the assembly that hold the LED's are the weak link and will generally fail long before the LED does.
