What is does this means? Floor mat?

First time actually washing my front factory floor mat. The triangle was only for the driver side.
Other end had a tag , explains how in install floor mats, which end is up.
What is the purpose of the the yellow triangle?

 

I guess if you see the yellow triangle, it's installed wrong?

 

Years ago Toyota had a problem with cars accelerating on their own, after law suits and investigation it was determined it was for improper floor mat installation. That is why they have that on all oil change inspections.

 

Interesting, my stock OEM rubber mats did not look like that at all. My mats had that honeycomb pattern on it.

 

It’s the same reason they put stickers on hair dryers to not use them in the shower. Some people are stupid and have to have a sticker.

 

I was really hungry one time and grabbed a bag of beef jerky from a gas station on a road trip. I was shoveling food in my mouth and I got the “keep fresh do not eat packet”

Its gotta be so if its installed upside down, there's a giant yellow thing to remind you how stupid you are.

 

Manufacturers have to put warnings on almost anything because there is some fuck that is looking for free money from an ambulance chasing bastard. God help them if they assumed any responsibility for their greed. Paul Harvey years ago had a article about this type of human debris. A person sued a ceiling fan manufacturer because there wasn't a warning stating that raising your child head into rotating blades could cause brain injuries and won millions. Think what piece of shit would attempt to murder their child for money.

 

I think every product you buy has a warning sign printed?

It's for people who don't read the tag that tells them which side is up. I think, "this side down," molded into the mat might have been more useful instead of the triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. But, then I'm reminded that the whenever I try to idiot proof something, some damn fools come along and breed better idiots.

 

Everything in California has a warning label. On the bread bags it warns you that the brown crust will give you cancer and that toasting the bread will further increase the risk.

 

In some cases very necessary

 

It's for people that can't figure out how to install a floor mat... like tpms because they think we can't read a tire pressure gauge.

 

I changed oil on a car one time and they also were complaining about the car not accelerating. I get in the car to drive it on my lift and it doesn't accelerate, you know why? Seven floor mats were in there! You couldn't push the gas pedal down.

 

Pretty much everything here in Cali will give you cancer.
