First Gen on Tow Dolly

I am seeking clarification for towing my 2001 Tacoma, 4x4, 5 speed manual on a tow dolly behind my RV. I know there are numerous posts about other Tacoma's but I am only seeking guidance on a first generation, 4x4, manual transmission setup. Every thread I see has mixed opinions and gets hijacked about other topics. Please don't weigh in if you don't have a useful comment. If I were to tow it, would the trans and transfer case both be in neutral? Thanks in advance.

 

Yes, put both in neutral. You could just put the transfer case in neutral if you like and this would isolate the the transfer case from the transmission but by putting the manual transmission in neutral as well this would be just in case you forgot to or didn't correctly place the transfer case in neutral. Extra layer of protection.

 

So what im gathering is that the 1st gen T case has a mechanical neutral option for flat towing?
