Dump the OTT tune its not very popular here for a reason. Find a tuner in your area that offers either the CVC tune, M&W Nexus tune or KD Max Pro tune. These are the popular tunes here any of which will fix your gear hunting problems, give you much better throttle responce and deliver consistent power throught the curve. Any of these three tunes will be the best mod you can buy for your truck.

And you won't want to sell it afterwards.

I love my Truck. Purchased by phone sight unseen. Not smart. Solely based on my past experience with my brand new 1992 4X4 Toyota Truck I had for 14 years. However, could not imagine having any other truck.

This truck is not for everyone. But by all means get out and test drive one somehow as yes, the shortages make it difficult.

Many find having their factory software overwritten with an aftermarket “Tune” makes the truck shift more conventionally.

    More great info here.

To me, the 2022 Tacoma is sluggish and the transmission is my biggest complaint. I agree with those who are complaining about the transmission. I'm towing a 2000 lb trailer and the transmission goes up and down shifting from one gear to another. It does not make for a pleasant trip, and it increases fuel consumption. 11.5 MPG and that is at 65 MPH!
If I had it to do over I'd probably purchase a Frontier. Toyota could have done better, this isn't a good model year for them.
