anybody have thoughts about sway bar links? Had this clank on my 2019 taco since it was born and wondering if changing the links might solve the problem? and if so, who makes a quality link?

First off, I would re-torque everything suspension wise.

You know for sure it’s your links? I tracked a rattle down to normal CV axle play on my 19.

Remove it. I cut mine up and made HD gate hinges out of it. The gate will still be there 200 years from now.

The sway bar links have unserviceable balljoints with threaded rods and nuts to attach them.

If they are properly torque but still clanking, then they need to be replaced.

Before that though, have you modified the suspension in any way that might also cause the clank?

Check the cab mounts, many don't make it through assembly correctly assembled, and make a clunking noise like suspension would. Many threads in here about them being the end result of noises coming from the front end.

I was just going to suggest inspecting your front radiator support bushings, but all of them really. They’re known to shit the bed early.

Check all you body mounts. I had a front body mount that was loose from factory and clunked. Took me ages to find where the noise was coming from, as I thought it was suspension related, and my dealer could not locate it.

You should be able to crawl underneath the truck and see most everything. The front ones are just behind the front wheels, and the rear are just in front of the bed. Can't miss them. Look for rubber that is compressed badly to one side or just flat and cracked all around. Same with the radiator mounts. They will deform and allow the metal to bolt contact that you are hearing.

I changed all six of my cab mounts with the vehicle on the ground. I used a floor jack and several pieces of wood placed between the frame and the cab to keep my hands attached to my arms if something slipped - no close calls happened. If you do change any or all of them I don’t think you’ll *need* a lift either. What matters is disconnecting what needs to be disconnected before you start to jack the cab up off the frame. For my 1st gen that was shifter linkage, fender liners so they wouldn’t tear, hard brake line brackets that go to the frame (brake hose connections stayed, no fluid loss or bleeding) possibly one other small thing but I can’t recall. It’s doable even if it sounds like a lot. Here’s a before and after of the front radiator bushings. My originals weren’t even grenaded yet but I was on a tear to replace all 20 year old rubber parts. I went with a full energy suspension replacement kit. And after I’ve done this I now see when someone’s body lines are off even if it’s minuscule like an 1/8 of an inch.

*apologies to anyone in the rust belt that wasn’t ready for that clean frame porn. Haha this CA truck has had it too easy.
