Fuel cap door pushed out

has anyone had a problem with their fuel door? It was fine when I opened it but when I closed it it went up and out. Something pushed it all over the place. How do I replace the door?

 

Drill the rivets holding it on I assume. The fuel door is the cheapest made part of these trucks

 

Just lubricate its hinge once in awhile, and you'll never have an issue.

 

Since I posted this I’ve seen the rest of the threads. Wow this is a common problem.

 

The same thing happened to me as well. Bent it back and lubed it. It's fine now.

 

And make sure the “leash” doesn’t get pinched!

 

I think that is what happened. That got bound up and pushed it out.

 

I have caught mine doing it a few times.

 

It easily adjustable, back into position. Just take your time doing so.

 

This is usually the issue, the leash gets pinched and bends the thin hinges.
