Just picked up a stupid expensive RTT on a massive discount with a REI coupon and a gift card. Hasn't arrived yet but trying to figure out how to mount it.

I don't think there's enough clearance between the roof and the cross bars to use the provided mounting brackets, but I could be wrong (they come with these: https://ikamper.com/products/mounting-bracket-2-0/) ... There is more clearance towards the back and front, but the weight could sag and perhaps screw up the roof.

Prinsu sells these expensive feet, which would rise it up a bit, but not entirely sure if that would work with iKamper's mounting brackets? https://prinsu.com/product/prinsu-1-tent-mounting-feet-set-of-4/

My other option is mounting it above the bed on my voodoo hi rise crossbars, but that'll likely require some special hardware too.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

I have a prinsu rack and an ikamper mini - I have the tent mounted to a bedrack, but I'm pretty familiar with the sizes and clearances of everything on my mounting system as I've been tweaking it a lot lately.

I believe both the 1.0 mounts and the 2.0 mounts will fit if you mount them towards the front and rear of the roof rack. I would recommend going with the 1.0 mounts, as I can assure you those will 100% fit. Just get shorter mounting bolts / trim the bolts. They are common size that you can find at a hardware store.

Thanks for the info. I assumed as much about the 1.0 - that they'd fit just fine, but the lack of security on those seem like a huge issue. Seems like a pair of bolt cutters and you could take the tent off in less than a minute. The 2.0 have the option to buy the bracket locks, which is better than what the 1.0 can offer in terms of security. iKamper suggested adding some tamper proof nuts to the 1.0 but idk, that doesn't solve the bolt cutter/angle grinder problem. I'm not super worried about theft, but I will leave my truck for hours unattended at camp while hiking or fishing. I was excited about this product but unfortunately it doesn't work with iKamper's mounting system (at least with the mini) - https://www.wheeleveryweekend.com/products/rtt-security-clamps

The tent comes with the 2.0's so I'm going to try those first, thanks agai!

ah yeah I keep getting marketing emails about the 3.0 but REI had a 20% off coupon and figured I'd jump on it, I dunno if the upgrades are worth the $700 I saved with the coupon, but they do look like nice quality of life upgrades.

Did you get this setup yet? I am looking to do this same setup of iKamper mini 3.0 on my 3rd gen double cab with a prinsu until my back ordered RSI cap comes later this year when I will probably move it to a prinsu on top of the cap. If you have it setup, any pictures would be appreciated!!

Nope, I settled to mount it above the bed with kb voodoo hi rise crossbars over my bakflip mx4 (with total chaos bed stiffeners to reduce flex). I took it off until it warms up a bit, but it seems pretty sure and I'm happy with it. I know Prinsu says 500 lb static load limit, but I didn't feel super comfortable with it up there, and I'll be taking the RTT on/off all summer, so easier to just get it above the bed (also no garage to mount it). I'm sure it'd be fine but even standing on it and bouncing, feels like its kind of weak, so thats where i'll be sticking a yakima skybox and some other things for the moment. I'd have no problem mounting a RTT above the bed on full length prinsu rack (cab + bed).

Did you have to do any trimming or fabrication when you installed the KB Voodoo with the Bakflip MX4?

Nope, not at all, I'm pretty sure they made it for the MX4. However, some water can get in around the mounts, but you could prob figure that out if it really mattered to you. I wouldn't be worried about it unless it was crazy rainfall.
