    Hey Tacoma fans,
Is anyone going to be at the 2022 Overland Expo? What do you enjoy about it and what are you excited to see?
This year will be my first overland expo and would love to hear from everyone who has been or is going. What should I checkout and what are some must sees?

    Best,
    Brock Brunkhorst

We will have a booth at the overland expo come by and check out our products and ask questions?

My wife and I attended last year -- that was especially fun for me since I went to college in Flagstaff. Started my off road career in college driving an M38A1. But that trip was mostly a jump-off point for wandering around the Arizona Strip, eg Vermillion Cliffs, White Pocket, and a half-dozen Grand Canyon north rim points.

We got invites to attend again this year, but we think we'll sit this one out. It was big, it was impressive, it was well run, but we've never signed into the Overland trend.

Yes, I am excited to check out the different style set ups people run. Always interesting to hear different perspectives on off-road wants.

That is awesome, did you go to NAU? I love those Willys that definitely had to be some fun adventures being in such an open vehicle. Is that your trailer that thing looks amazing to have?

Yes went to NAU. Given the location, we did TONS of 4x4 and learned a lot about mud and snow. The Jeep's engine was upgraded from the four-banger to a Buick Dauntless 225 -- a relatively strong V6. The Jeep was previously owned by LA County Lifeguards, so the body was mostly rotted sheet metal replaced by plywood and fiberglass. Friends used to call it The Spruce Goose. It was geared super low, so the top speed on the interstate was around 50mph. It also had a two-lever transfer case: one for high/low and the other for 2wd/4wd, which meant I had the option of driving in 2wd low range. The clutch linkage always failed, and I replaced the reverse idler gear at least twice (probably due to driver error). The old canvas top didn't fit so well, so I drove without it, covered with snow - the Jeep's heater would melt the snow from around my feet. At 18 years old, I was forgiving.

Nope not our trailer -- we were gawkers.

What an M38A1 looks like -- the panel in front of the passenger window was for two 12 volt batts to power the two-way radio. The Jeep had a 24v system stock.
