ISSUE:3rd Gen Tacoma Engine Overheats in 100+ temperatures as fan cannot cool radiator. Symptom is AC fails to blow cold air at idle. TSB introduces an external blower assembly however if you are out of basic warranty this is at your expense. Bell Road Toyota in Phoenix quoted $2400 parts and labor.

SOLUTION 1: Pay the dealer to install it.
SOLUTION 2: DoItYourself - Either buy the parts suggested and follow the instructions, OR, DIY - install the Suggested external blower assembly to a switch on the dash for manual operation.

What have you done to solve this? In AZ we wheel all the time on 100+ heat… this happens regularly at obstacles or any slow or idle scenarios.

I live in AZ too. Haven't had this issue in my '20. Does it only happen after driving for an extended period?

I haven't noticed this in my '20 but I just moved back here in September. I'll keep an eye on that and on this thread...keep us posted please?

Bell Road Toyota sucks so go try Big Two. It's probably further for you but they have never tried to take advantage of me like some others.
