Hey all,
My 09 taco has left me stranded twice now, check engine light appears along with the tcs light, it will run for about 7 miles and then it will shut off, it will start back up long enough to shut back off again, 6 engine codes come up for coil pack show up, if the truck sits for about an hour the codes will clear and the truck will start and run perfect until the next time... Truck is an 09 trd sport 4.0l auto, both times it died the temp was above freezing after being extremely cold in the morning and also after driving approx. 1.5 hours.
I'm really hoping someone has some insight, my dealership up here in Buffalo has never had this issue. Actually took to dealership, they did many crap including telling me I had a full tank of contaminated fuel. return the vehicle stating that the complete wiring system need changing at over $5000.00. charging me over a $1000.00. I do not believe this as if this was the problem why after sitting for awhile it will drive about 15 miles before shutting down again. I think my problem is similar to Cory`s in2015

I had a similar problem with a different manufacturer. I told the mechanic about it. Not sure if it was experience or luck but he was right. It was the ecu. Good luck

 

What were the codes?
P0351-p0356?
