PRG Products - YIKES

Please be aware of PRG products. I purchased a 3-link from Greg in early March. Right after I placed the order he called me on the phone to let me know it would be a one week lead time. He seemed like a nice guy on the phone, was extremely chatty, and seemed to know his stuff.

I don't hear anything for 2 weeks, so I call a few times, no answers so I leave voicemails, and also send an emails. He finally emails me some 25 days later on a weekend and says. "it will ship Monday. we got father behind schedule than we thought". Monday rolls around and I hear squat so I do the voicemail/email again. He emails me back a couple days later "sorry it will be one more week" and offers to refund me $50. I decline the refund and mention to him I have an upcoming vacation for a week so I didn't want them to arrive while I was gone.

I get back from the vacay and ping him for an update, again no response for several days so I decide to tell my bank to start working on a charge-back and shoot him another email with my intentions. A few more days pass and my bank is progressing on the charge back. Out of the blue he emails me a tiny unreadable picture of some links and with shipping UPS label and says "will be there in 2 days". Not convinced of any action I opt to let my bank keep working on it on the charge back.

At this point I finally I did a little googling on them. Holy shit... Soooooo many complaints on other forums and the BBB. Many stories that sound exactly like mine, take a look for yourself.

Today to my surprise the links actually show up, 50+ days after they were supposed to arrive. The product looks ok, I'm a bit unimpressed by the weld quality personally. I should have produced these myself and saved some $$$ but I'm pretty lazy sometimes I guess. Whatever, I decided to call off the bank at this point, I'm over it.

I guess the moral of the story is that if you're using a new vendor for the first time Google them thoroughly first. Also only pay with a method you know has some protection. I know my bank would have refunded the money but I doubt I would have had such luck with Paypal or similar. I have a feeling if I didn't sic the dogs on him I could have been stuck waiting even longer..

Avoid PRG, otherwise you're in for a particularly shitty experience.
