Hi, I just purchased my 1st Tacoma. I’ve been a Toyota girl since my first car but never had my Tacoma until now! She’s a beauty, I’m still adjusting to truck life. Previously was a minivan-mom. I bought a new (to me) 2nd gen ‘14 SR5 double cab. Has a capper with a roof rack. But I have a couple of questions:

-head rest is it just me or does it force your head/chin down? maybe it’s the ponytail.

-recommendations for a tailgate mat of some kind. I use her for work and need to save my knees crawling in and out of the bed all day. Is there like a gardening pad type cover I can add to her tailgate?

-why are the cupholders so small?

Overall I love love love her (Fiona) and I know I have to adjust to less storage compared to the Siennas and vans. Any recommendations on how to organize this thing better would be great!

I’m so excited to finally own one!!!

    How tall are you?

My wife is rather short and when we shopped for used cars to replace her totalled 4Runner we noticed various models starting around '07 model year and up had a strange angle to the headrest. They all landed squarely in the back of her head and caused her head to tilt forward. She couldn't drive my '07 Outback without turning the headrest around 180 degrees. We read somewhere at the time that new DOT mandates regarding headrests at the time were the reason for the odd angle of some headrests.

She's currently in a '13 Highlander and has no issue with the headrest. Perhaps a headrest from a Highlander may be a fix for you.

Congrats on the truck and welcome to TW!

I'm short and I use children's soft toy puzzle pieces lay'd on the tailgate to save my knees. good luck with it.

Flip the head rest around so its backward- it bothers me too
    It’s forward for whiplash protection
