Is anyone using the Pareto Point “Top Dog V”? What has been your experience? I’ve been looking at getting it for longevity. I like it over catch cans as it grabs engine particulates too.

I’ve got a buddy with a 62 land cruiser with ~300k. Said it cleared up the engine sludge pretty quickly. Said it was a simple easy to use system.

Tried a search, but only came up with 2nd gen stuff.

That website is so full of snake oil bullshit claims that I stopped reading.

If they just stuck with it as "hey, it's a nice filter that does a better job at filtering," cool.

Saying it has magic horsepower/milage/sex appeal abilities, nah, ya lost me through that sea of red flags.

Bypass filters and catch cans are not related.
The catch can goes in the PVC system and catches oil vapors before they get to the intake manifold.
The bypass filter passes a small amount of oil through a very fine filter while the factory filter handles the regular high volume oil flow.

Bypass filtering is not new or confined to this manufacturer. It is well proven, the Amsoil system uses a bypass filter.

RE: 62 Land Cruiser, not enough information.
Did he pull the valve cover and oil pan, measure (but not disturb) the sludge, install the system and then pull the again pull them again later and measure again?

If a neglected engine with sludge build up is put on a regular maintenance schedule the additives in the now more frequently changed oil will (over time) clean up some of the sludge build up.

Interesting concept. These motors do not produce a ton of metal/ sludge as it is with regular oil change intervals.
Why do you think you need this? Over the millions of 2GR motors across the globe, if there was a catastrophic issue regarding oil filtration it would have come up.

I'm a fan of the Baxter performance spin on filter adapter, but I see no reason for this.
Use high quality oil, OEM/WIX filters and you'll be fine.

The engines in our Taco’s are of a modern design and use synthetic oil. Couple that with a higher operating temperature then the engine in your friends Land Cruiser.

As others have said, going with an OEM or high-quality Oil Filter should be more then fine.
