    Recently I have been having issues with my 2008 tacoma getting stuck in park. It started sporadically a few months ago then acted fine for about month. Last week it I couldn't shift out of park. Luckily the truck is in my driveway.

    I can shift out of park using the bypass switch but thats the only way. My brake lights arent working so I checked the 10a fuse behind the dash and it looked and tested fine but still not brake lights. I have the 2009 led taillights on my truck so there isnt a bulb to check or replace. What else can I check? The blinkers and reverse lights work fine if that matters. Is there another fuse I should be looking for? From what I have read, if my brake lights dont work the truck wont shift out of park so I need to figure this out and hopefully fix my problem.

    X2 on this as well. Even if this is not the cause of your issue. Not having brake lights is something that needs to be remedied

    See if you have power coming out (with pedal depressed) and going to the shift lock solenoid like 6gear mentioned

    @Dm93 probably has a schematic

    Power comes into the switch on pin 2 (Green/White), with the brake depressed Pin 1 (Blue) should have power as well.
