Deer hunting BS thread

I have a Tikka super light in .243 and its a great deer gun out to certain ranges. The caliber that will work best for you depends on where you hunt and what kind of shots you expect to take. I absolutely love my Tikka, I think they are one of the best budget rifles you will find. the action is smooth as silk on mine. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Awesome. Love it up there. I’m down in Federal Way/Northeast Tacoma. Normally hunt out of Enumclaw on Hancock/Weyerhaeuser land or just over the pass in he Tanum Creek area near Thorp

 

Right on, I work out that way from time to time. I’ve rode dirt bikes up in the bald mountain area

 

Bald Mountain is a nice area. It’s been a while but the last time I was in there we ran into a nice herd of elk. To bad it was deer season….

 

My buddy elk hunts up there but they don’t ever get anything haha. I think they got one spike in the last 20 years or so. Muzzleloader tag I believe. Washington pretty much sucks ass for hunting.

Thanks..not much to copy ole bud. dice a little onion,a sm can of diced chilis and a few diced tomatoes. brown till meat is done, drain on paper towel. put back in pan with a can of Manwich and a little water. let simmer till liquid is steamed off and it tightens up. your done.

Finally starting to drop fawns. This one was laid in the middle of the access road to my private property spot. I watched 5 does run off and luckily this guy jumped up right before I ran it over. Stumbled it’s way over to the edge of the road and flopped back down to hide.

 

They are just starting to drop here too.I havnt seen any but a few farm guys at work have.its 1st cut hay time here.always gotta watch for one when they cut.

 

one of the boys went out to pull a treestand yesterday. yuk.
