This "builder's harness" allows you to add additional (LOW DRAW) lights to the dome light circuit without cutting your factory harness. Using this harness, you are able to control your new lights using the 3-way rocker switch near your dome light. When the switch is in AUTO your new lights will fade on when you unlock the truck, open a door, or turn off the engine. They will fade off when you close the door, lock the door, or when the dome light timer shuts them off (in the case your door is left open). When the switch is OFF your new lights will be OFF regardless of all other factors. When the switch is ON your new lights will come ON and will stay that way until the factory dome light timer shuts off. Your new lights will be enslaved to the dome light, and thus will always come on when the dome light is on.

Please note that the red wire is a constant 12V+ -- if using a relay you will want to wire it such that it is trigged off of the black wire (ground). The use of the relay will eliminate the fade effect, however, and when in AUTO the added lights will be a stark on/off (square wave). I will not be responsible for people overloading their dome circuit -- do your due-diligence and understand the draw you are adding to your dome circuit. Again, this is a builder's harness for people wanting to tinker and assume risk.

Installation is simple: Disconnect your battery negative, drop the overhead dome light console, unplug the 24-pin connector in the back, remove the a-pillar trim for wire running, plug the new harness into the 24-pin connector, and run your wires to your new lights. Reassemble when done.

Price is $40 shipped to your door in the USA.
