Fair point. My speedo seems to be accurate on 31s anyway. Do you think the dealer would have swapped the gear if they changed the tires when sold new?

 

It's possible, it takes more time, effort, and money to change a spare tire than it does to change that gear.

That must just be a hall effect pulse counter right? And just deletes every 200th pulse for each .5%?

 

Yeah I do believe this is one of the few times toyota uses a hall effect system over a reluctance system. Better than Nissan with their stupid optical sensors. It's .5% adjustment... so I'm not sure if it is removing pulses or generating an entirely new PWM output

 

Drained the radiator beforehand. Lost not even half quart

Tim sure makes it look easy... What did I do wrong? The inner sleeve came out easy, the bushing on the other hand - pain in the ass and I think the neighbor wanted to call the fire department. I also killed a screwdriver.






Maybe I should've just left the original in.

 

Duro bumps makes a good bushing you simply slide into the inner sleeve after you brush off the rubber bits

 

I know the feeling.. I watched that video and figured I'd have zero issues since I bought a set of used CA arms.... wwwwooooooo buddy was I wrong. Here's a montage of my comedy of errors, I eventually had to pull out the oxy acetylene and carefully burn the outer sleeves out

 

Yeah, why I ordered them . I'm going to kill the rest of it with fire and then follow up with something like this. Hopefully, that will do the job.

So you actually removed the outer sleeve? I thought that was supposed to be left in (according to the instruction PDF) -

 

It wasn't that hard when I did it...

Part of the trick is to find a press adapter so the jack pushes on the outer sleeve. If you push on the inner sleeve, the rubber just stretches. A bit of heat helped, too.

That depends on the bushings you're installing. Energy Suspension keeps the original sleeve. Whiteline replaces it.

 

The snippet I pasted above is from durobumps which is what I ordered. Thx for clarifying. Glad I don't have to worry about that part.

 

Is Durobumps a new option? I don't remember seeing that when I was shopping around last year.
