    Hi, there!

Last week we had a couple of really hot, really humid days and my AC SR started getting better mileage. I was averaging about 24mpg on a 28 mile trip. Tank average was always about 20-22.

Now I make the same trips getting pretty darn close to 30mpg. Same speed (65-70), ECT off. Today I got 33!

Anybody have any idea of what could be happening? I don't mind the great MPG, but why would it suddenly get so good?IMG_20220520_131834.jpg IMG_20220519_123911.jpg IMG_20220514_234538.jpg IMG_20220514_125448.jpg

    Oh look, another mod....

You SR model guys with skinny ass tires get the best MPG's ever. Update us this coming Christmas and let us know if it hits 40MPG!

Sounds like Yaris consumption territory. My RAV is worse than that. Not sure my Tacoma will ever get that.

Is it possible you have different size tires than the original ones and the computer is tricked by that?

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
My experience with my '06 TRD OR AC was similar - around the same odo reading the MPGs started getting consistently better. That was a 4.0 V6 Manual.
So far it's similar with my '21 TRD OR AC auto. With this one I think part of it is the truck learning my driving habits and me learning how to drive it with a eye to MPGs.
Summer fuel also is a factor. 15 years of MPG records for my '06 proved that Winter fuel and driving kinda kills good fuel mileage.

probably just a glitch on the "distance to empty" measurement. it resets sometimes and throws off the calculations. how many miles did you drive to get 33 mpg? i hope it wasn't just a long downhill coast.

that's some dumb logic. the window has nothing to do with a lift and it's on the customer if their TSS doesn't work due to their own modifications.

I drove about 28 miles to work. I'm close to Chicago, and there's no long downhill anything over here. About 8 miles in the trip are street driving, and 20 are highway miles. I do it twice a day, 5 days a week. It was just recently that my mileage started to go up.

sometimes i get better mpg when it starts to get hot out, along with decreased timing advance, and less power. usually the ecu adjust eventually, though, and the mpgs return closer to normal. 32 mpg is pretty impressive though. most i've managed is 27-28.

I had the truck one year in March. It didn't do it last summer. Maybe it was still learning.

Someone added sugar in the gas tank and made the floater move up an therefore trick the ecu that you have better mpg.
