    Hi all,

I am about 4 days away from driving over to Ensenada mexico and picking up my first ever and hopefully last Toyota Tacoma. It is a 2004 Toyota Tacoma v6 4 door, and it has extremely minimal wear and usage on it. From what ive heard the truck has less than 100,000 miles on it and runs great. It is a grey one, and has a clean interior as it was never really used too much.

I am a little skeptical about the entire rust issue that has been plaguing Tacomas for a while so I hope that for this particular truck this is not the case. I will update everone with more information about the condition of the truck when I am actually able to see it. I hope there is no rust at all, and instead everything is clean. If there is some rust what are some things you all have done to help fix the issue and care for the Tacoma.

I am going to begin with how I came to buy this truck. This truck belonged to my grandfather and he never really drove it since he no longer lives in Ensenada Mexico but instead in Baja California now. So the truck has been over at his house in Ensenada just sitting outside the house in order to make it look as if someone is there living. really it has just been sitting over at his house in Ensenada. I have always wanted a tacoma but with how expensive they can be for a desent one, I had to jump and capitalize on the opportunity to snag up this beauty while I had the chance and thats exactly what I am doing. I bought it off my grandpa for 5k which is a steal for the condition of the truck.

Once I have the truck I am extremely interested in transforming this truck into a mini monster. I would like to do some exterior work for the truck like changing/replacing front and back bumpers, headlights (some of those LED headlights with the LED bar that lines the inside of the unit) tint, body correction work, maintenance, etc. Interior body work is also a must because these toyotas have cassete stereos and I would much rather prefer apple carplay when driving in the truck so I will have to install a new double din headunit for the stereo. If anyone has any suggestions or has had great luck with any stereo please mention it as I may look into purchasing it.

I look forward to getting yall some pictures once I have the truck and am able to register it.

If the truck lived it's entire life there rust won't be a problem.

I can’t imagine Rust being an issue on that truck but if it is there certainly is plenty of good advice here on Toyota world.
