Here’s mine on my stock first gen. They came off my 2011 4runner with 275, 70’s(edited) I Believe so too big tires for a stock pre-runner. They rub the frame so you have to be careful when turning. I went to a 3rd gen TRD off-road wheel now with smaller tires but I plan on getting the FJ wheels back on soon once I can get a better fitting tire setup on it.

That's odd that they rub on the 1st gen. My OEM wheels, which I actually liked the look of better, rubbed on both the upper and lower control arms with the stock width (265) tires I had on after lift. I went with these wheels to get the extra clearance I needed as they are about .6" different backspacing than my OEM 2nd gen Sport wheels.

I like that they look different than stock but not so much to look like they don’t belong on the truck.

Leaning towards bronze paired with my Indigo Ink OR, but afraid it will clash with the chrome... what do you guys think? It's 1200 bucks (CAD) to have sandblasted and powder coated in either colour

I like the grey, but I am not real big on bronze. Whatever you like I say go for it, either should look great!

That's just beautiful! You need some blank hubcaps you can paint whatever colour you want? I can give you the ones I have with the H3 stickers on them (scroll up for pics); I bought new ones with the Toyota logo and won't be using them.

Thanks man! I appreciate the offer, but I’ve got two sets im not using already lol. I like the hub cap-less look for these wheels, they look great with or without them though

Cool, I'll offer in the ads section... as soon as I finish salivating at your customizing pages; so much to be inspired by, you're going to make me broke!!

This site is a slippery slope. I’m a prime example of that. I can’t leave anything alone though, so that doesn’t help :D

Well, you got your wish! LOL

Seriously though, the guy gave me a deal on leftover 'gun metal' powder he had sitting on the shelf, and he mixed in a bit of sand/bronze, but you can barely tell unless you look really close and the sunlight hits it just right. I'm still happy with it cause it cost me 50% less than expected :amen:

Here are a few pics where you can sort of see the colour change:

I finally joined the club! Recently put on the "revolver" FJ wheels wrapped in 255/80/17 Cooper S/T Maxx's. They're still growing on me. I kind of like the retro look they give the truck. Stock 3rd Gen Off Road suspension, and I get some slight rubbing on the back wheel well during sharp corners and flexing on trails. We'll see if removing the mudflaps and bending some plastic helps. Then maybe some tweaks on the next alignment. Overall, I think it should be easy to avoid cutting anything, especially if I get a lift/suspension upgrade.

Also, the TPMS just worked. Didn't have to recalibrate anything.
