    Day 0

Day 0 was the meet up day. The whole group was arriving from different areas, 2 from Arizona and the rest from all over Colorado. Since it was such a long day we figured we would meet up right outside of Las Vegas, so we could get an early jump on getting in Death Valley on Day 1

The trip started with a 13 hour drive for me!

Saw this cool lifted Rav4 though

    Made it to Utah!

The traffic outside of was unreal. I did not expect this much traffic, we ended up having to detour through a small town due to the highway closure

    Day 1

Day 1 was a pretty easy day. Mostly just dirt desert roads, hit up Bad Water Basin and some of the other tourist traps.

The crew is ready to go!

Looks like a fun trip so far - and warm! End of March is a bit of a crap shoot as far as temps go, but definitely near the time that I'm starting to look towards elevation for my last trip of the year (well, until November, hahaha) into the park!

Also, it's too late now, but just a heads up that group sizes are limited to 4 vehicles. By doing our part to keep our groups to that size, we can help keep the amazing (unique amonst National Parks) access we have at DV going.

Rules and Regulations - Death Valley National Park (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
    • In non-designated campgrounds, group size is limited to 12 persons and no more than 4 vehicles, and/or 8 pack animals, and/or 4 vehicles. Groups larger than 12 must split up into smaller groups and must camp, hike, and eat at least a half-mile apart. Larger groups may request an exception to these limits from the superintendent under the terms of a special use permit.

Looking forward to the rest of the trip!

I did not know that. Crazy I saw groups of 10+ in DV! Didn't realize it was 4. We always tread lightly and make sure everything is all good to go when we leave camp.

    Day 4

On this day we hit the Dunes and Steele Pass. Steele Pass was definitely an adventure. Unfortunately most of the shots taken were video, so I will have to edit them all together. When I do it will be posted here.

Steele Pass. We ended up having to winch the Colorado out when he got his awning hung up on the canyon wall.
