Does anyone here run a curved light bar anywhere on their truck? Is there really an advantage to it, or is it just a gimmick? Reason being, is I am looking at the Baja Designs ONX6+ curved light bar, and it is so much more expensive than the straight bar.

Does it really make that much of a difference?

I would think its mostly for aesthetics. With those baja open bucket optics your getting alot of light bleed already, i wouldnt say its worth it. Although ive never used/seen a curved bar in person.

I think it does spread light several degrees more to the side and also what beam pattern used.

I would think saving the money for the straight bar and add some ditch lights (or side lighting) might be a better solution.

Like above, I have never used curved bars, only straight. mostly going on what I've seen from here and youtube videos.

if you are racing its nice, but other then that i would say a normal bar setup is perfect, add in some side lights and you are right there.

I guess adding side lights would offset the cost of the curved bar and give you more placement flexibility…

With the quality of optics currently on market, the difference in beam spread is marginal at best.

Going with a curved bar severely limits your mounting options.

ARC bars are an aesthetic improvement to fit a certain look. They are not a performance improvement.

Memario is correct, the curve in the bars is more for aesthetics as well as fitment and less of a performance upgrade.

I have a straight 40" onx6 bar on my 4runner, and another buddy has a curved...never noticed a difference in the light spread/output between the two
