Been chasing down a clunking sound for years. It is only apparent on speedbumps and larger dips. Checked out my radiator support mounts and they are so toast it isn't even funny. On faster turns or turns with bumps its almost a consistent knocking sound.

Just received the radiator support bushings today. Will be installing them flipped tomorrow. Cant wait to get rid of the horrendous clunking

Holy cow my old mount bolts were rusted pretty good and the sleeve wore out enough to get the bolt threads to rub on the radiator support, which is the weird sound I've been hearing.

Very noticeable lift after installing these as my bumper gap got a tad bigger but at least it's even on both sides.

Definitely made my body panel alignment worse as my hood has a huge-r gap now. Not too surprised as I've driven the truck pretty hard. Put 145k miles on it in 4 years and it shows lol

Didn't have time for pictures as it was freezing outside vs warm yesterday...

I have the same gap. Driver side hood pushes up a tiny bit.

Mine is honestly probably 1/2"-5/8" easily of gap but I wont lose any sleep over it. I thought I forgot a tool on the side rail per usual :D

Fairly certain this is how I lost my 10mm ratcheting wrench.

Mine did the same thing. Not loosing sleep over it.

One thing - make sure your body mount bolts are tight. After I did mine, I started hearing a clunk when I hit certain bumps with the front suspension. Eventually, I found the body mount bolts a little loose. Which is odd, as I know I tightened them. Apparently, things settled a little bit.

Moral of the story - after a month or so, go back and double check the bolts.

That's a good idea because it seemed my existing bolts had backed out a bit compared to when I installed the new bushings.

After driving it since last night it is a substantial difference. My front end isn't knocking around on spirited turns and stayed planted. The front of the vehicle used to hop and skip, I'm guessing loading and unloading those loose and worn out bushings. It is really enjoyable to drive now without constant clunking over bumps.

Definitely one of the better modifications I've done. I'm running the bushing upside down btw

You can adjust the height with the rubber bumper on the hood corners

It's adjusted where the rubber is all the way as far as it can go into the hood lol I'm sure I tweaked it :burnrubber:

Mine is a hair less than that.

If I turn the hood adjusters down (make shorter), the hood vibrates when I drive. Apparently, something is bent in there.

Found it! One of the kids must have moved it to another drawer. Ironic that it was the 10mm though.

    3rd gen here...

No sway bars, new tie rods, new DRT FAB cab mount relocation (with new energy bushings), new Fox Coilovers.

Chasing a weird "bushing" sound. It is not metal on metal, but upon entering my driveway fast (3" lip) I can hear some rubber on rubber sound from the front drivers side in the area of these bushings. Occassionally on a nasty pothole/bump I can hear the noise on the road.

Did 20+ miles of rough gravel roads this weekend and the sound was almost constant. Somewhat alarming really. Was also occassionally evident on the passenger side as well. After a bit hit they would "rattle" 2-3 times.

Does anyone know if the 8.4109G kit works for 3rd gens?

See the top of this page... Also consider checking the top bushings of your coil overs if running aftermarket

Coilovers are brand new, but I will look around this weekend. Just getting over ankle surgery so trying to get a game plan prior to ripping everything apart and/or throwing a ton of parts at it.

    Hey.
Sooo, my passenger side bolt is seized in the sleeve... Afraid to torch it, will have to cut it out. I understand that generic part number is 52217, but can't find the specific one for radiator support bolt (not sure if they're different length than other ones).
Anyone has a proper part number for that specific bolt? Or maybe a link to am_zon for a replacement?

    Edit
