Ironman 4x4 America Leaf Pack

There is sporadic, but no great information on the Ironman 4x4 America leaf packs. Was hoping to see if anyone has experience with these. With the sale going on, they’re $589 shipped with bushings, u-bolts and all, which is a solid deal. Interested to hear what people think!

Just bought a Travel Trailer when I thought I was done with that shit! Initial squat with high tongue weight is putting a lot of force on my weight distribution hitch so I need to respring now. I'm looking at the "Heavy 440-GVM" since I have a 490# tongue weight. Would love some feedback. I was having a chat session with one of their guys and the wanker just disappeared! WTF!

If I guinea pig this deal, you guys willing to do a Go Fund Me if I get hosed?

 

I’m asking Ironman if they’re return/warranty policy covers squeaking or sagging. I’ll report back. There just isn’t a lot of long term feedback on the leaf packs.

They make good coil springs for land Cruisers. Curious if they are manufacturing these themselves or outsourcing.

I have the stage 1 kit and so far the kit itself has been great. I have the lower weight leaf pack and and they seem good. No squeaking or anything like that.no extra weight in mine. I’ve been treating mine with Woolwax so no rust or anything. I also swapped out the u bolts with a flip kit but the did fit well. The leafs are beefy.

A word on great customer service. A few of us had an issue where a bolt was originally installed backwards and the threads dug into the fuel tank. Mine was not bad and they offered me either store credit or bringing it to the dealer to have them inspect and replace the tank if needed. One person ended up having the tank replaced by the dealership and Ironman paid for it.

I’m also interested in these. Don’t have a camper. Also read about the extensive height in the back with the heavy duty set. If I’m going to replace my leaf springs I want to do it once and done.

 

Thanks! I’ve had it on for about a little less than 2 years. Been happy the entire time but swapping to the lower rated springs helped a lot.

I completely hear you on that one. Thinking back though what I should have done is bought the heavy duty then took at the leaves I didn’t need. That way, if I ever (not likely) added enough weight I could add them back in.

 

Damnit, just realized I posted this in the marketplace!

 

So, can I take that as a suggestion to buy the heavy to start and possibly pull a leaf or 2 so it's not so gonzo-stink-bug in nature.

I'm guessing with my stock suspension a Bilstien 5100 or 6k series front lift would be necessary to do to keep things close to level?

 

I would think so. Either way, you’d need new shocks for the rear. I don’t think the stock has enough travel for that.
If you don’t plan to ever add weight, you would probably be fine with the performance/comfort (can’t remember what term they use) but if you think you’ll add weight, then you would have the leaves if needed. Just my thoughts anyway. They’re the same price.

 

I'm definitely adding weight. 490 lbs of tongue weight for my new trailer but with a weight distribution hitch. As mentioned earlier, I'm seeing too much extra sag with the stock suspension so I need a better starting point with a heftier leaf.

 

I ordered the medium duty pack. I’ll do a write up on install, height gain, and periodic performance updates as to squeaking, articulation, sagging, and how it handles additional weight.
