Unless some of users here are named Rachel and Ashley and are 5'-1" to 5'-9" this will be a nothing burger mod for dudes of normal height.

    Wait for the 4th gen

I was disappointed they didn't redesign the seat to make more room. This is like the third post you've tried to troll me. I'm hitting ignore as you are only cruising the site looking for conflicts. Best of luck to you bro.

Best of luck to you too. Take a look at my last 1000 or so posts and find the troll posts. I give factual answers. There literally is no possible room under the seat to give substantially more room unless the tedesigned the floor.

Have u looked under the seat? Tons of room. I had a 4" wide tow strap under there for a while. Bottles always end up down there.

yeah I was gonna say.. are we driving the same truck?! I can fit my arm and fist under the seat. Easily 3.5-4” of clearance. The seat could definitely be redesigned to sit lower..

I'm not sure why people are claiming it can be made to sit lower. The seat rails are always going to add height, add motors n' stuff and there's is no place to save on height. The side trim panels still look the same height as the old ones. It likely barely drops in height.

Again a huge nothing burger. The only reason Toyota is offering a power seat and carplay is to get more of these trucks into the hands of women. The typical American man is a wasted marketing adventure these days, but they have tempted you back to the fold with Army Green

You aren't driving the same truck. He got rid of his Tacoma a while ago and is just here to get people riled up.

And that's why I like ya

You're right though. I had this dream of stowing some stuff under there.... good luck! There's room for 1 or 2 of my circa 1984 GI Joes. That's it

If the seat cannot go down then the thickness of the seat can be decreased of course, we're not just putting circles in the circle holes and squares in the square holes here, Toyota probably has a few engineers at their disposal.

I am not necessarily looking for more headroom either, I just want to be lower so that I'm not hunched over trying to see when the light changes from red to green!

There are other issues with being my height as well, like lumbar not being in the right spot, shoulder blades hitting the top of the seat where it pokes forward a bit, this is worse than the headroom issue for me. The seats do not accommodate at all. Way comfier than my 2005 Honda CR-V 5spd M/T that's for sure hamstring issues completely gone.

Maybe someone can make a mirror that mounts off the dash so I don't have to hunch for red lights.. cough cough @MESO

If they decrease the thickness of the seat, then you'll be bitching about how it's not as comfortable as it was when it was thicker... All of these issues that you seem to have. Are you a math textbook, because you sure have a lot of problems... Seriously, tho, it sounds like you didn't even sit in the drivers seat before you bought the truck. That's your fault, not Toyotas.

I just want to stay sitting how I was before the red light and not have to hunch to see the light change, even people that aren't 6'3" have this issue, seems like you don't have to worry about that though with your Napoleon Complex and all. I was gunna make another joke about your Napoleon Complex, but I'm afraid it might fall a bit SHORT of your knee slapper up there. :ohsnap:

Good luck. FYI for short guys like me; I recently tried the 2019 and 2020 TRD Sport; the 20 is slightly lower; enough for me at 5'8" to get in without the running board. I hate to spend the extra money but with Tacoma's being bullet proof it's worth it.

I have a 2018 my wife has a 2021 and her power seat goes way lower. It's a significant difference. Enough I'm looking for a power seat for mine.
