Aftermarket Flywheel Recommendation

Well clutch grenades itself at 67k. I have clutch master TOB and Phoenix friction stage 3 clutch too. Finally pulled my transmission out and Im in need of a new flywheel or having oem resurfaced. LCE is in the works of flywheel not eta. URD from what I've read isn't supporting 3rd gens any further or out of stock. I'm close to 6k in weight and I do offroad. Would it be a bad idea to use another stock flywheel?

URD and Marlin both actually recommend I use a OEM flywheels in the past unless I absolutely needed a heavy one (which I did) when I did my clutch.

But only 67k on a clutch?

I feel like something is out of adjustment or you're doing something wrong.

This is my OE disk with 144k on it.

Well I've been driving manual for 12 years no issues ever. I was negligent and felt the clutch start slipping quite some time ago. Buy once cry once kinda thing now. Don't wanna drop the trans twice for a flywheel. I don't tow often I'm regeared to 5.29. Could be bad luck I guess

But yeah, if you're geared and and don't tow and feel like you have enough torque to tire when doing your preferred off roading without slipping then just stick to OEM.

And if you slipped it enough to disintegrate the material like that I *STRONGLY* recommend you purchase new OEM as I can almost guarantee your's is too far gone to machine.

Plus machining screws up the tolerances, you can usually get away with one time if it's not bad but IMHO not worth it just buy a new fly.

 

Had to take it off due to the amount of material that was lodged and stuck couldn't be cleaned properly.

Which flywheel did you end up going with? I will be replacing mine during the holidays coming up and I'm not sure if I should get a light weight, heavy weight or OEM flywheel. Thanks.

 

Went with OEM resurfaced. 2nd gen could be a different since your gen has been out way konger and the support is there. I went to my local dealership they told me they haven't even done a clutch on a 3rd gen... but I did it myself
