Couldn't figure out where to post this, but I had to share.
I bought this thing a few years back for use on my bolens yard tractor, which has a custom 2" receiver on it.

It came with a long pipe for use on trucks- so you could put the tailgate down... Now I guess I'll be needing to find a way to do that again. It does have a foot-stand to support the actual weight of whatever you're hoisting, but that's not attached in this photo.
I found with the tube cut down this short, I could hoist up to 800lbs pretty easily and (slowly) drive around with the yard tractor- assuming I had the snow blower on it for a counter weight.

It came with a hand-crank cable hoist, but I replaced it with an electric one. I think in the end I'll go with a 1.5" wide nylon strap on a ratchet crank, but that's a ways out.

Today, I pulled it off the tractor to throw on the tacoma! I'll be using it to move my bumper winch into the bed, and then hopefully next weekend using it on a buddys FJ to lift the bumper and support the weight while we install it on the front of my truck.

Surprisingly, these aren't a HF item- I got mine on ebay, searching "Crane Hitch Mount" will find a few different styles.
