UPDATE: we found the truck and it’s in one piece!!! Hi everyone,

Our grey Tacoma was taken from our home in the Berryessa neighborhood of San Jose last night. We live near Jackson/Berryessa, the flea market is 5 minutes from us. The 680 freeway entrance is also very close.

Our cameras show either a Jeep Compass or Cherokee (no identifiable plate number) letting someone out and stealing the car within a minute or less.

This car is very important to my family. It is the car I drove to and from college in Marin county and my dad currently uses it to commute to Stockton for work. All his work gear was in the truck bed at the time it was stolen.

Per my relative who recently had their Volvo stolen and recovered 2 days ago, SJPD has only 2 officers who work on the cases of stolen cars. Not sure how accurate that is.
Nonetheless, we would really appreciate your help in locating our vehicle.

    - Grey SR5 - 2017, double cab
    - License Plate: MAY2YO, black and yellow specialty CA plate
    - Black bull bar
    - Black American flag grill
    - FLEX wheels, 35 in
    - prinsu roof rack
    - 3 inch lift
    - Ditch lights

*this is my most recent photo of the truck but there are several different modifications since then. Thank you.

Thank you guys so much! Any leads appreciated.

    Enough for now
Please post photos of the truck if you have them. Sorry to hear the news, thieves suck. Hopefully it’s found unmolested

Sucks dude. Hope the police track it down before it's parted out. If they dont find it you can use your insurance funds to get another one.

Sorry to hear this. One more reason to hate jeep owners.

    Hobbs did it, not me!

In all seriousness, I live quite far from where they are. But I will keep an eye out. Sorry to see this OP.

I've read on on this forum how sophisticated some of these thieves can be. Apparently they can somehow electronically clone the key or something. Crazy. Thing is, if they did that, they are probably not your typical thieves who might be rolling around the neighborhood in your truck. It's probably gone - sorry to say. On the other hand, if you've got good insurance it should all be pretty much ok. Losing the deductible sucks. You might not want it back after being stolen anyway. I would think if someone stole my Tacoma I would rather it be a total loss and start over instead of getting it back and wondering what the heck they did to my truck or in it while they had it.
That being said, I hope it works out ok for you and just as much, I hope they catch the rat-bast@rds who stole it.

That trucks already on its way to a different country…. Start the insurance process and start locating a vehicle now at a dealership.

Hey everyone let’s try to help the OP out. Everyone who reads this should write the license number down and keep it handy in their vehicle so if you see the truck you can verify it’s the one and call 911

Update! The vehicle was located safely about 5 miles from our home. Nothing was taken and the car is in one piece. Just needed a jump start. The neighbor’s camera showed the car being left 30 minutes after it was stolen from our home. Thanks so much again!

This just mean you drink too much, OP? Jkjk

Happy it was just a joyride. Any idea how they were able to steal it so quickly?

I didn't see that coming........Doesn't sound like something sophisticated thieves would do. Also interested in how they stole it so quickly.

My guess is that they parked it somewhere to see if it had a GPS tracker and they were planning to pick it up in a day or two if nobody found it.... or they used your truck to commit a crime and now they dont need it anymore.

30 minutes is pretty quick. Hopefully it was just a joy ride and they didn't use it to go steal something else then drop it off when they finished their next crime. That happens a lot in the Bay...

That being said I Just moved away from San Jose a few months ago and man do I miss it.

I didn’t think about that. I live a sheltered life. Glad OP got the truck back so quickly. Hope it’s all good. Nice looking truck btw.
