Hey everyone, do the long beds sit a little lower than the short beds? I have a short bed, but just installed the OEM leaf springs that came off a long bed. Leafs should be the same across all models, and I'm at the typical ~22" rear height as I believe it should be. But out of curiosity, do the long beds sag a little more due to the extra weight?

    Short beds are actually heavier.

An extra foot of cab and interior weighs a lot more than a foot of empty fiberglass bed and sheet metal sides.

Assuming you're comparing access cabs to DCSBs, yeah. But a DCLB vs DCSB the long bed is heavier.

That said it's all fairly negligible in the grand scheme of things. See below for an example. All things the same, when comparing access cab, short bed and long bad, it's only a small spread, look at SR5 for example. 4,315 vs 4,445 vs 4,495

To actually answer your question yeah they should theoretically sit a hair lower but I doubt it's perceivable.

The DCLB is less heavy than the DCSB? I'm assuming your mixing up the access cab maybe?

thats what I figured. Maybe in another world I was secretly hoping the long bed leaf springs were a little higher/heftier than the short bed springs which would theoretically give me a bit more height on the short bed. But it looks like they all use the same leafs anyways once you run the part numbers.

Yeah I was thinking ACLB vs DCSB.
