It's made by Runaway - they're out of Florida. Several models available this one is 6x8 and a few years ago we paid about $5,500 for it.
They go for a bit more now of course - comes with A/C but the interior is empty - so you get to trick out the interior. The wife did this:
The Goal Zero lives in the bottom left where that charger is, and powers the lights. Next to that we keep a small battery which hooks into
the Goal Zero to keep it charged. We can go for 5-10 days on that setup. We store the solar panels under the bed which could be used to
recharge the Goal Zero if needed. She's pretty handy with some 3/4 birch and some tools LOL...

    upload_2022-5-24_20-38-51.jpg

We're smaller folks so the setup is fine for us. We did a 16-day excursion to YellowStone a few years ago in it...
She rigged up an awning system too that can work on the left or right side depending on needs.

Moving to CO has been the best decision I’ve made - been here 12 weeks, camped 10 of those weekends. Most recently in the San Juan National Forest.

    Just the basics
The San Juans are great. I did a week long group trip years ago. Take a glider ride in Durango.

my kid is flying up Monday - I live about 30 min outside of Durango, so would be very interested in this. Who did you do this with?

For those of you who being a couple Dual Sports or dirt bikes, what does your setup look like?

I’m debating building a trailer since nothing I see fits our current needs.

Doing some camping in the Gifford Pichot National Forest in WA, just driving down random unmarked service roads until we found a spot we liked. Not pictured, Gazelle tent (big fan).

You've got a short bed? How do you transport the Gazelle? Also how's it do in the rain?

Yep, short bed, you know your tent v bed sizes lol. I fit it in a Thule box mounted on a diamondback tonneau cover (with the crossbars). You can just see the top of it poking over the roof rack. The box hangs over the back, but I don't really mind since I only put it on when needed and like having the extra locked/covered storage space. I thought about a RTT but I knew I wouldn't be camping enough to make the $$$ and PITA process of removing it/putting it on worth it, plus I use the Thule for skiing as my skies don't fit in the bed properly (tall boy problems).

I haven't used it in real rain yet, light drizzle it's been fine. Feels solid and I believe it'd hold up well in heavier rain. I wonder about heavy winds given its size and height though. Overall I really like it so far. The ease of set up and teardown is awesome, can fit a full queen air mattress plus have room for gear/dog bed. It's heavy AF and huge even when bagged, definitely glamping in that thing.

Thanks. I've got a hardshell RTT currently but my growing family is soon to outgrow it. It's the worst of both worlds to have the RTT AND a ground tent so the RTT is likely on it's way out. Bought a cheap ground tent to dabble for now since all my other ground tents are backpacking tents but I like the idea of the Gazelle. Would buy the overland edition that has the waterproof bag and strap it on the roof.

Do you know what elevation you were at? Considering going over stampede pass in June and thinking there might be too much snow.

I have a moto carrier for my dual sport. Actually have two of them... one is a versahaul tray carrier. The other is the carrier below, which is raised and lowered. Wanted the second one as I can open the tailgate when the carrier is lowered. The versahaul has a receiver I can plug a MTB rack into, but I can't open the tailgate without unloading the moto. Every setup has pros and cons.

There are dual moto carriers but I wouldn't use one. A single is plenty heavy on its own. You could probably carry both bikes in a pickup bed but that doesn't leave much room for other gear on a road trip.

A trailer is probably the best option IMO as it opens up the most options. You could get an enclosed trailer and build it out with a sleeping and kitchen setup in addition to carrying the motos. Or with an open trailer you could still put a RTT on top using a rack. Or none of that. If the vehicles in your signature are what you currently own the trailer would work behind any of them.

To piggy back off that. I recently got the Gazelle, and set it up in the backyard to do a trial run, and just inspect the tent a bit before I camp for real. As luck would have it, it rained all night long. Checking the tent the next morning, not one drop of water inside. I was planning on coating the seams, but ended up not doing it because it performed so well. Not to mention the quick set up and take down. Can't wait to actually camp in it.

I have the T3, and we camped last summer in a few rain storms. No issues with leaking at all. One suggestion though: get a fan of some sort. They do get stuffy, even with the windows open.
In retrospect, I should have opted for the T4, but, at the time, I was single. We can both fit in the T3, but its just us, the beds, and clothing. Fortunately, I have a ton of tarps for outdoor areas :)

Such a beautiful area up there! I’m going to try to spend some more time up there. I’ve spent most of my time around Rainier and St Helens
