Old news, but I am personally a fan of electric and ready to jump on board, just not a $50k+ FCA product.

The JLU's actually get decent gas mileage, my mom's rubi on 32's from the factory KO2s got the same as my stock 3rd gen...

The Fiat 4 wasn't even available with a manual transmission!

I trust Ford more than FCA when it comes to the electric stuff.

I fully expect the first year of the electric Jeep to have major issues, just like when the entire JL generation first came out.

The range is a joke if I remember correctly, pretty much a bunch of expensive crap with no use.

I'm incredibly interested in the new Powerboost F150... no need for a generator with the travel trailer!

Exactly it's the perfect camping vehicle! The only thing I hate is that it beeps outside the vehicle when you are in reverse. Hopefully someone makes something to disable that.

Being able to use it as a generator actually convinces normal people to make the switch to a Hybrid vehicle. This Jeep seems to be targeted for tree huggers.

Just poor range before it needs recharged again.

I’m all about an electric topless Jeep but this 4xe hybrid is the worst of both worlds…. it gets worse total mileage than the base ICE 6MT, has poor ~20mi EV range and costs way more. Only sweet spot is under 20mi on all-electric range in which case it’s great, but 20mi isn’t a lot. I’ll hold out for a full BEV Wrangler or Bronco until then…and I’ll still keep the truck then too.

Test drove it, and Impressive. But the disappointment is only 35 miles range of electric.

    4 run, 2 don't
The electric motor/battery is pretty much free when you consider the Federal and State Tax rebates.

$7500 Federal, paired with an available $1500 in CA, makes something like leasing a 4XE as cheap as leasing a Sport model.

I’m going to bring up this old thread because I’ve been watching a few videos about the 4xE and I know a lot of folks would be on board for a hybrid or EV Tacoma. The range sucks sure, lots to go wrong, HOWEVER, the ability to seamlessly switch between a gas engine, an electric battery or a hybrid of the two (that charges the battery at the same time) is incredibly cool! And it even has crawl control! I mean cmon! Obviously this is all still fairly new technology and there are a lot of kinks to work out. BUT

    Imagine:
    Tacoma TRD Off Road 4xE
Everything we love about the taco, plus hyprid and electric options right on a dial next to the 4WD select. Allowing for our staple trucks to take a step into the modern, greener, future and we can still climb hills and bomb trails.
    Wouldn’t that be alright
