OEM Black Tacoma decal; not Overlay.

The eBay ad doesn't state they are genuine Toyota. Otherwise I guess it would get taken down for counterfeiting. Not sure why he would go to the trouble of creating that knock-off sticker on the bag though.

 

The main thing I've learned (the hard way) is to stick with ABS decals. I bought some the metal ones at first and they're a nightmare, they bubble and the black color chips off very easily.

 

They're definitely not genuine Toyota parts, and/or they are modified genuine Toyota parts. Unlikely because the packaging doesn't look legit.

Toyota makes almost all of the nameplates/emblems for the Tacoma in black, except the 2016+ door ones that say Tacoma. (Only

$90 2005-2015 Toyota Tacoma With 4L Right Petrol intake air snorkel kit high performance system compatible kit Replacement black Rotational Molding (2005-2015)

2005-2015 style are available).

As for holograms on the label, Toyota doesn't have holograms on their labels. The only part I can think of they do that for is oil filters and then it's just on the top of the box, not the label.

LH (Driver) Side:
a = 220.1 mm (8.665 in.)

Trucks with this port option use the accessory blackout overlays and the accessory exhaust tip. If you removed the overlays the factory chrome nameplates would be underneath them.

Ah no my badges are 100% black if you scratch it it’s black no overlay.

 

The black overlay is a plastic cover that goes overtop of and sticks to the factory nameplate. You can't scratch it off anymore than you could scratch the chrome off of the nameplate underneath.

These are the accessory overlays that fit over top of the nameplates. Toyota doesn't make black nameplates for the Tacoma door plate.

Any chance that someone could post an updated link to the OEM matte black door emblems? Not the overlays... I would like to buy a set for my truck but can't find the ones listed thru the ebay links. Looking for part #75427-04030 matte black. Not chrome, not an overlay and the ones with the A's not filled in... Thank you!

Not sure if OEM but they've lasted just fine through numerous trips through the carwash and the truck has never been in the garage.

 

Sparks Toyota was able to help me find the TRD PRO '22 black "Tacoma" door emblems. Although the package says RH, I held against the left emblem and see that the emblem tapers from thick to thin front to rear. So there is definitely a LH and RH emblem difference.

As @Arcticdc5 posted, there is an update to my previous posts, which were true when posted, but no longer are. The 2021 Nightshade added black nameplates from the factory, these are not listed for the TRD Pro however... I actually believe the 2022 TRD Pro may just use the overlays.
