Busted AC blower fan!

I wish these were made out of aluminum...

Parts Train has them for under $40 shipped. I got with my dealer service writer and she got me a free one.. Almost free, I have to take her to dinner tonight.. That might be a post on a different thred tough..

 

It happened to my 2016 at 52k miles. I did the zip tie and epoxy fix. The dealer ordered me one a month ago and still no word, ill try calling them today for an update

 

I found a fan cage at O'Reilly auto parts for 21 dollars made by Murray part #BW9334

 

Happened to me last week on my 17 with less than 12000 miles. I was shocked dealer had one in stock. I was out the door in less than half an hour.

 

Some jb weld epoxy on the blower upper portion to prevent it from braking

 

Just bought a 2017 with 16k miles and the blower broke a month after purchase. Taking it into the dealer tomorrow, we will see how long it takes to fix.

 

Noticed a Special Service Campaign for my '17 SR HVAC Blower Motor. Says I should be getting something in the mail soon. Guessing this may be the same issue???

 

Yes it's the same issue. Received my letter Friday.

 

Hey my fan will blow sometimes but cut off over a bump. If I turn recycle ♻️ off I can get a little cold and warm air. I got 150k on her so do you think I’m SOL or was there a recall? Thanks

 

I've replaced the AC blower motor in my old Tacoma twice.. cheap and easy, but still frustrating to have to do

 

Cuts off as in the blower doesn't run at all?
The issue described in this thread and the recall has to do with the fan on the blower motor. It was poorly made and breaks off the motor. Makes a racket under the dash and doesn't blow air, but the blower motor still runs.
If your blower motor is cutting off and not running at all, that sounds like an electrical issue....wiring or something

 

Yeah I had the recall done a few years ago. I stopped by and picked up a new blower motor and caf for $70 and it will blow off your toupee if anyone has one. It’s been solid for a week now!!
