That's rough. I'm glad I don't have to deal with customers, just the ding-a-lings that break our stuff...

 

Most of ours are understanding. I've never seen this guy before. I think he was German by his accent and stature

I am not sure of the issue your talking about, only read a few spare posts. But a few years ago, I started wearing different shoes each day, basically gave my shoes an extra day to bounce back so to speak, my back and feet thank me so much, I now have 3 pairs of the same shoes I rotate.

 

I don't think I would go as far as succeed -- it does keep you employed though, might be about the same.

 

Its prob different for civilians, military you could only do or say so much, most times its shutup and color. Those that couldnt conform didnt last long.
It doesnt mean be " yes man" just had to know when to choose your battles so to speak.

 

I just got done machining the 200 parts in these 2 boxes. I looked at the UPS label on them and they weigh 52 lbs each. They were shipped 2.9 miles

 

New poll.....9 out of 10 times I got dads belt. I never got one I didn't deserve but missed several I did deserve

 

Didn't see an option for mom's wooden spoon so I chose stick. The worst was if dad had to get involved with his belt, if that happened you know you messed up.

My mom used those wooden paddles with the rubber band and ball. When the band broke they went on top of the fridge. She broke one on my leg one day while I was sitting. I laughed. She said wait until your dad gets home. I can still hear the belt clearing the loops

Agreed. I got timeout, and the hand mainly.

But on one occasion, I got my dad's oak fraternity paddle. Thank you sir, I do not want another!

 

There was always 1 or 2 of those paddles on top of the fridge. I got spanked once, turned around and said “That didn’t hurt!” The next one set my butt on fire! Lesson learned.

 

I chose stick for the poll as that was what is closest to the oak 2x4 my mom had. She tapered one end and drilled holes in the other.
