Sure there was... The time-out was the time you had to take out of playing to let the sting in your ass go away so that you could move again after you got a going over from the belt, switch, wooden spoon, paddle, etc.

 

My dad worked out of town a lot. When he got home my mom would tell him what I did then beg him not to give me a whipping. I'm thinking , dammit, why did you tell.

 

I received a VERY worried voicemail AND an email from campus IT security that they detected the firewall was turned off on my computer and they wanted to know if I did it and why.

 

I got the belt or a backhand but chose belt because they seem to be longer lasting pain

Ahhh, something about driving this old 4runner puts a smile on my face
No idea why....I mean it's got a little quirks here n there, no speed monster by any means...perhaps because it's 32 years old with 290k miles and still motors on down the road...

It's a gorgeous 82 degree day, I'm on vacation next week and the boss left early. Why am I still at work?!?

It feels about the same here. It was almost a little toasty earlier in the day with the sun directly overhead. I broke out this nifty little cap...I got from somewhere. Anyways it's got a liner in it that kind of like synthetic chamois, cold water then top your head with it. Bit of a shocker at first but does a good job keeping me cool.

 

My kid was on campus so I took him through the chemistry building. Had to go on the roof because... well, just because.

 

But we're not there yet

 

I got a whooping from my parents then a time out after.
My mom used to use a wooden spoon then started using those thick paint stirrers from Home Depot. If you said a bad word you got vinegar shot into your mouth.

Your mom sounds like my wife. Her preferred tool of choice is a big paint stirrer, and vinegar is her poison of choice for bad words.

 

My mom put it in a little spritzer bottle so you got two shots of vinegar to the tongue.
