This is the one I use. It’s nice to have fresh water to wash your hands and rinse salt water off your fishing gear. Seven gallons of water will last several days. The PVC pipe I use is the thin drain pipe, not the thicker, heavier stuff. I have some L brackets screwed into the wall in my garage that I hang the pipe on. The rods are protected from getting banged around in the garage and from spider webs and such. When it’s time to go on a fishing trip, I already have all my gear packed in a plastic tote and just throw it in the truck. I can be packed and ready in 30 minutes or less. I highly suggest ordering some of those silica packets like are in electronics packages, they work great in those totes to reduce moisture and corrosion. I ordered a big bag of them from Amazon, they were pretty cheap. I put one in each box with my reels and in my tackle boxes. Then I drop 2 or 3 in the big tote for good measure. I don’t have a problem with corroded gear when it’s time to fish.

Do they need to be refreshed before use?

Woke up with bad heartburn at about 5am and couldn’t go back to sleep so decided to make my way to the beach at about 6am this morning to make a few casts. Sure am glad I did as I landed this nice 20” Spanish from the surf. I’ve caught Spanish before but only on a charter boat. We will see how he tastes tonight!!!

Nice fish. They’re great fresh on the grill. I leave the skin on and coat them with olive oil and a little lemon pepper.

I bought a rod & reel from a guy and he threw in a tackle box with random stuff in it. First I tried a Gotcha plug, but didn’t like how it was doing so I tied this spoon on and in about 5 casts hooked up!

Unfortunately didn’t have a grill, only the Coleman Camp stove. So I chunked up the filets and lightly floured them & dropped em in some hot oil. It was scrumptious!

I work in Corova several times a year and get to see them all the time. It’s usually just another thing to me, but a couple months ago as I was heading back to the pavement I passed some of them running down the beach. Really cool to see in person. Can’t upload the video, but here’s a screenshot at least.

Drove to Nags Head today through TS Ian, fun time that. Headed to Ocracoke tomorrow for a week of chasing drum.

It is in spots for sure. They say its passable, but its going to be interesting. The ferries are on schedule for tomorrow which surprised me.

Jealous. I’ve only had 3 chances to get out over the past month, and nothing but rays Unfortunately. I’ll be in Avon the 3rd week of this month for the tournaments.

My group had a good week in Avon. Ramp 32 between 8pm and midnight. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch any of these monsters. We had about 15 in our group, we caught blues, several small sharks, and a flounder every once in a while.
