    Hi All,

I messed up and put some scratches on my radio screen. Bad enough that I want to replace the unit.

I see some used head units for sale on ebay such as the following

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/325082425960

I am wondering if the used head unit would need to be reprogrammed when installed or is just plug and play

    Appreciate any feedback!

2016 - 2019 should be plug and play for the main radio unit (except JBL to non-JBL and Vice versa) If your truck came with a navigation unit that should be the same as well. I just pulled my stock non-JBL head unit with navigation out of my 2019 Sport (Entune 2.0) that I'd let go for a good bit cheaper than that listing if you need one and you're in the U.S. Feel free to send a private message if you want.

You can get a replacement touch screen (just the glass) for less than $30. Here's an example -- the exact replacement would depend on the year, trim level, etc., of your truck.

The actual replacement is not difficult, if you're handy. I did such a replacement on a tablet computer. As long as you're careful, you can do it. (There are YouTube videos on how to do it.)

The cost savings are obviously quite substantial.

I'd go with something aftermarket from Kenwood or Pioneer instead.

Thank you NoVa TRD Sport! This is a great option. Yes cost effective and from the youtube video I watch not overly complicated. I think I will try this route.

Thanks bbartol for the input! And the offer for your radio. I think I will try with replacing just the glass initially.

Thanks MGMDesertTaco for another good option.

    Appreciate all the advice!
